"European Sculpture:  Difference and Diversity in practice"

from 16th to 18th of September 2010 in Grugliasco (Turin), Italy

in cooperation with the cultural organisation martin Martini Arte Internazionale www.martinart.it and the City of Grugliasco

This year's IX Sculpture Symposium will accompany the opening weekend of our first sculpture network members' exhibition. It shows sculptures and installations of 30 members from 10 countries. You may find a list of the selected artists here.

Programme

The forum starts on Thursday evening, 16.9.2010 with the opening of the members' exhibition.

Our lecture and networking programme on Friday, 17.09.2010 begins with a Keynote Speech by the Dutch sculptor Auke de Vries "Scale. A story about scale". F
ollowed by three speeches on the development and trends in the Italian and European sculpture scene.

Friday afternoon is devoted to our sculptor members and their work. Selected artists of the exhibition will present their work. Afterwards all participants of the event (also including members who are not represented in the exhibition) have the opportunity to present their catalogues and works in the SHOWROOM. A great opportunity for exchange, discussion and networking.

On Saturday, 18.09.2010 we will be visiting major art institutions and sculpture spaces in Turin by bus, including the Fondazione Merz, the International Sculpture Biennal Racconigi 2010, some sculptures in public space and the Castello di Rivoli. The programme ends on Saturday evening with a reception at the roof terrace of the museum.

Participation fee

The participation fee includes all entrance fees, guided tours and the bus service on Saturday as well as lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday.

 

  • Members: 160,00€ (only 1 day: 100,00€)
  • Non-Members: 200,00€ (only 1 day: 125,00e)
  • Students: 80,00€ (only 1 day: 50,00€)
