Together with the Museum Beelden aan Zee, an exhibition of monumental sculptures and installations by renowned Chinese sculptors of the '90s to the present day in will be shown in various places in The Hague in 2011 under the title "The Hague under the Heavens - Contemporary Chinese Sculpture".

2011 marks the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the first Chinese workers in the Netherlands. The works show themes such as the search for identity and rapid progressive social development.

The artists:

Sui Jianguo, Yue Minjun and Zhang Huan, Liu Jianhua, Wang Jin, Cang Xin, Liu Wei, Yin Xiuzhen, Jiao Xingtao und Hu Xiangching, Wenda Gu.

In the Studio Pulchri, Dutch artists show their view of China.

The Museum Beelden aan Zee shows the first open-air exhibition of the best-known Chinese sculptor Sui Jianguo in the Netherlands. Outside, the 114 figures of the Rent Collection Courtyard are shown. These tell the story of the exploitation of workers by the landowners. These Maoist propaganda bronze sculptures are for modern Chinese sculpture as relevant as the terracotta army of the Xian Dynasty is for Chinese archeology.
