"Present and Past Experience“
Curator: Luciano Caramel
In the unique Racconigi Castle near Turin, June 6th to October 10th, 2010, the International Sculpture Biennale takes place with the motto "Present and past experience". The curator, Luciano Caramel, on behalf of the Associazione Piemontese Arte chaired by sculptor Riccardo Cordero, chose 45 sculptures that depict an intensive dialogue between contemporary sculpture, nature, architecture and history. The chosen artists include internationally recognized artists the maturity of their creative career as well as several young sculptors. The exhibition is supported by the Piedmont Region in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and art treasures, and by the Province of Cuneo.

The Palace of Racconigi offers the sculptures a context of great beauty and art historical significance: the historic residence is one of the largest in the Savoy. On the edge of the property, Margaria, a courtyard of the royal house that was built by Pelagius Pelasgians in Gothic Revival style in 1835-1843, is located. At one time, the exotic plants of the Royal Greenhouses were housed here.
The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog by Silvana Editoriale, including, among others, a critical essay by Luciano Caramel and essays by Barbara Tuzzolino and Giovanni Cordero.
