Julius Popp who has been born in Nuremberg in 1973 will receive the award given by the Adolf-Luther-Foundation in 2010. Popp has been studying at the Leipziger Hochschule for graphic and book arts from 1998-2005 and visited the classes of Astrid Klein.
Julius Popp has his studio in Leipzig. With his big voluminous installations ?bit-fall? and ?bit-flow? he connects the elements of water, light, movement with the digital culture. He gives an aesthetic-sensual approach to the scientific world of computer science and technology.
Popp will receive the Adolf-Luther-Foundation price in June 2010. For this purpose there will be an exhibition at the Mies van der Rohe-Villa of the Krefeld museum Haus Lange. The exhibition will be held with the assistance of the Adolf-Luther-Foundation.
