"Mapping the region" is the theme of the exhibition projects of the RuhrKunstMuseums with regard to the Culture capital project RUHR.21010. The museum Küppersmühle MKM in Duisburg presents Mapping the region - Olaf Metzel. Any Questions? one of the most important contemporary German artists. For the exhibition at the museum Küppersmühle Olaf Metzel (*1952 in Berlin) will design 10 installations. 4 pieces have been especially designed for this occasion. They will be accompanied by further pieces, which Metzel designed for the Museum.
As usual Olaf Metzel picks up socially critical problems and themes from everyday life ? like the school system or the media landscape ? which he experienced in the Ruhr area.
Metzel picks up these ideas an finds new ways to interpret them.
Accompanying the Mapping-exhibition at the MKM the Wilhelm Lehmbruck foundation shows three more sculpture in Duisburg.
