The MoMA Wörlen in Passau shows within the series ?Kunst unter dem Dach? the exhibition ?Marina Schreiber ? Koralline Mantelzellen? from 18. July ? 6. September.
In build and chromaticity the fine objects of the Berlin artist remind the spectator of a diverse underwater world. The artist herself encourages this by calling the exhibition ?Koralline Mantelzellen?. She arranges the analogies to the maritime world with an imaginativeness, which based on the materials used, impresses the spectator.
The objects are formed by electronic resistance which are made of wires with small coloured ceramic pieces in the middle. The artist complements these abnormal materials with pearls which enrich the metal variety of shapes through colour and fabric accents.
With this part of her work Marina Schreiber allows her affection for the combination of different materials free play. The filigrees prove to be an experiment every time, because the question is how big you can build such a piece without risking the collapse of the sculpture.
5 years ago she started to form these electronic resistances into sculptures. The biggest part of the artists oeuvres is made out of polyester and wood sculptures, however they refer in colour and shape to the here shown ?Mantelzellen?. But they lack the limpidness of the wire works.
Marina Schreiber differs very much from the ordinary installation art.
