?Phoenix? von Oliver Ritter in Eschborn (D)

The Phoenix is a mythical bird which burns in order to re-emerge from its ashes. This expectation finds itself in the expression ?As a phoenix from its ashes?. It stands for something that is believed to be lost but re-emerges with brilliance. This happened to Oliver Ritter: he believed to have lost his Phoenix when he received the job to create a roand-about in Frankfurt. The roand-about is located in the industrial park ?Camp Phoenixpark? and that?s why the Eschborner picked is figure of the Phoenix. Since metal and fire are his elements it was clear how to present it: The sculpture literally came from the ashes, because it was revealed in a spectacular firehappening. Oliver Ritter packed the sculpture with straw and paper in order to light it.http://www.o-ritter.de
