Reflections by Rob Ward (GB)

279 pages, cloth-bound, 341 illustrations in color, 21 black and white, 45 British pounds (GPB), ISBN: 1900999 28 5

The book looks back at the past 40 years of artistic creation by Rob Ward. Treatises on various aspects of his work, his interest in music, poetry and philosophy and his discussion of the two-and three-dimensional form. The book illustrates his early abstract works as well as his recent monumental works in stainless steel. The diversity of his work is fascinating, as much as the ideas behind his paintings and sculptures. The book looks at how drawing, color and form merge to capture a moment. It reflects a period of British art at the end of the 20th Century.

Rob Ward, former director of the Centre of Sculpture at Leeds University from 1989 to 2004.
