ART FOR THE WORLD [THE EXPO] is one of the main projects of the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. The central sculpture exhibition, located on the 1045 meter long and 140 meter wide Expo Boulevard leading to the national pavilions, displays sculptures from 11 Chinese and nine international artists. Nine of the total 20 pieces will also remain after the world exhibition. Curator Ami Barak, in name of the French gallery JGM Galerie Paris - Shanghai, selected the pieces. The exhibition focuses on the increasing urban population worldwide as the greatest challenge of the future, and all 20 pieces deal with this subject. The monumental sculptures show different perspectives and inspiring discovery and development of new paths.
