The association Skulpturen Rheinland-Pfalz e.V. (“Sculptures Rhineland-Palatinate”) has organized six sculpture symposia in the Kaiserslautern-Süd area since 1990. A "sculpture axis" was built from east to west with over 50 large sculptures in the city and countryside. It runs from Johanniskreuz through Kaiserslautern to Queidersbach. A sculpture symposium is expected to be held every two years in the future. With it, the Sculpture Trail in the region north of the A6 will be continued.
The association, chaired by Jürgen Picard, hosted another symposium in Schweinstal im Krickenbach (near Karlsruhe) from 14/08/2011 to 11/09/2011, in order to continue the work of the Sculpture Trail in the community associations of Weilerbach and Ramstein-Miesbach. The Symposium will again be held at the site of the quarry of the company Picard.
The invited artists are:
Marina Vlaudia Farina from Marola, Birgit Knappe from Berlin, Peter Brauchle from Lustadt, Prof. Paul Schneider from Merzig-Bietzen and Rüdiger Krenkel from Mannheim
