Art in the Carlshütte industrial monument
The former iron foundry Carlshütte in Büdelsdorf, founded by the first industrial company in the duchies of Schleswig and Holstein in 1827 and decommissioned in 1997, is not only an impressive industrial monument, but, with its huge bays (22,000 sqm), the restored ACO coach house (400 sqm) and the spacious park (80,000 sqm) is an unusual setting for cultural events of all kinds
Since 1999, NordArt has taken place here and has established itself in recent years as Northern Europe's largest annual art exhibition. The NordArt is a juried exhibition, which is designed as a collective work of art each year. It offers a comprehensive panorama of contemporary art in an unusual setting. More than 200 selected artists from around the world show their paintings, photographs, videos, sculptures and installations, in the unique setting of the historic Carlshütte and Sculpture Park.
