The exhibition presents a revolutionary look at the history of modern and contemporary sculpture. It questions the stages of artistic innovation of the twentieth century.
Sculpture in the shape of object, installation, assembly and ready-made is placed next to forms such as painting, video, photography, language and performance.
Key figures of the cultural scene were invited to curate individual sections of the exhibition. Artist Michael Craig-Martin and designer Wayne Hemingway and his son Jack provide inspiring interpretations of the Tate Collection. Reflecting their own work, the co-curators present new perspectives and appreciations of sculpture.
