The project area Plauenscher Field finds spans the area of conflict between the urban and natural environment, arts and technology. On 12 June 2011, the first section of the outdoor art space "Sharks Dresden South-West" opens with four works of art.
FLASHBACK by Susanne Kaiser flashes lights at the Haltepunkt Plauen
OHANA by Ruth Habermehl spits messages at the entrance to the Bienertschen Garten.
SCHOKOFLUSS by Birgit Schuh (Member) lies in the gutter at the Hofmühle and loses its composure.
SUNKEN STREET by Anke Binnewerg (Member) sets the Weißeritz on the track.
In the coming years, other artistic interventions are planned near the downtown area to again to be anchored in the public consciousness. Until the beginning of the 20th Century, the Plauenscher Field was the combustion point for Saxon history, economic development and progressive artwork.
The space occupation begins on 12 June 2011 at 16:00 and includes a variety of visual, auditory and culinary goodies.
The project is supported by the Office of Culture and Heritage of the City of Dresden, the Foundation for Art and Culture of the East Saxon Sparkasse Dresden, Alfred Ritter GmbH Co.KG, Reproplan Dresden GmbH and other companies and initiatives.
