Fresh Air 2011 shows 100 new sculptures (UK)

© Johnny Hawkes

As in 2009, the Fresh Air 2011 shows 100 new sculptures in the garden of the old rectory in Quentington, the magnificent home of Lucy and David Abel Smith. Fresh Air works by helping local, national and international artists to get started and to sell, and provides a forum for the education in the visual arts. Young emerging artists can exhibit alongside established colleagues, and scholarships are awarded to talented artists to further their development.

The Trust

The Quenington Sculpture Trust was founded in 1997 by art collectors Lucy and David Abel Smith to continue the biennial Fresh Air, which has found great resonance since 1992. The show is a mix of traditional as well as modern and contemporary sculpture and is now a fixed date in the arts calendars.

The foundation is supported by The Arts Council, the Summerfield Trust, Strutt and Parker, the Cotswold District Council, Axa Art Insurance and RK Harrison Insurance Services.
