Our member Jochen Kern, wood sculptor from Berlin, is currently engaged wth an online art auction for "Plan International", an international children's charity, which supports children’s rights in Africa, Asia and Latin America. For sale are his wooden sculptures of the online exhibition "Mythical Creatures" ("Fabelwesen"), which was on display from April to September 2011 on his website. The sculptures are select root pieces of juniper, arborvitae, cypress and olive trees, and worked so that the natural form remained largely intact.
Those interested now have the opportunity to bid on one of 15 wooden sculptures in an online auction in support of "emergency relief for children in East Africa". The auction will run four weeks and ends on 27 November 2011. The minimum prices are kept low, symbolically at 40 to 60 € per object.
