Dear members and friends of three-dimensional art, The most important events in May for our participating members and for sculpture network itself were the two exhibitions in Berlin and Edsvik / Stockholm. While all eyes are directed to the Documenta, Belgium manifests itself as another cultural hotspot that cannot not be missed. With Track in Ghent the art is spread through the city. Genk is hosting Manifesta 9. In Antwerp one of the oldest sculpture parks, Middelheim, reopens after a facelift. And the Belgian coast line is crowned with sculptures, with the Triennial Beaufort. more

I met Krzysztof Krzysztof during the regional meeting Anne Berk and I organized in Antwerp. He gave a stunning slide show of sculptures in public places in Poland, from the Communist-inspired monuments in the post-war period and after the Holocaust, to the most highly numerous portraits of the Polish-born Pope, to young artists subversively placing sculptures in public spaces.
♦José Ramón Anda is one of the most important living basque artists, from his generation. Primarily a wood sculptor, Anda also uses other materials inherent to Basque traditions. This catalogue has been published on occasion of his solo exhibition at the Bilbao Museo de Bellas Artes "FORMAS CONTRA EL TIEMPO"- 7 May to 9 Sep 2012 and clearly depicts recent and early works. more
