Sculpture Now is a completely up-to-date account of contemporary sculpture created by artists from all over the world, during a period of profound and dramatic change. Anna Moszynska, a leading art historian, examines sculpture from the mid-1990s onwards which has challenged previous forms, beliefs and patterns of human organization.

Her books attempts to draw together the themes and ideas that characterize recent sculptural forms, focusing on a number of key areas that dominate much of the work in this period: the use of the body in sculpture, often cast from life; the everyday, with its legacy of the readymade; light and sound as elements within technology; nature and ecology as significant issues; the inter-relationship of sculpture with design and ceramics; and the huge impact of installation.

Her survey of contemporary sculpture includes many seminal works, including those by established artists including Jeff Koons, Mariko Mori, Damien Hirst, Ai Weiwei, Antony Gormley, Louise Bourgeois, Cornelia Parker and Rachel Whiteread, as well as an international cross-section of work from the new vanguard, such as Polly Morgan and her taxidermy tableaux; Anselm Reyle's large-scale electric light work; and Sopheap Pich with symbolic forms woven from materials grown in his native Cambodia. Finally, Moszynska discusses how and where sculpture is sited today, and the nature of its relationship with its audience.

Sculpture Now offers a global, authoritative and lucid survey of one of the most vibrant arenas of contemporary art practice.
